Summary of Discussion and Actions

1. 2007 Annual Meeting Site Selection. The committee approved San Francisco as the site of the 2007 ASLA Annual Meeting.

2. Legislative Update. Government Affairs Director Welch reported that funding for UPARR and HALS has been zeroed out in the appropriations bills on the House side; advocacy on the Senate side continues. Encourage letters to senators in support of these programs.

3. Green Roofs Conference. President Morris made the keynote speech at the recent green roofs conference, held in Chicago. LAM Editor Bill Thompson served on the awards jury and at the conference. Thompson noted that landscape architects are heavily involved in green roof design, but that other professions are also becoming engaged in this area.

4. Firm Finder. Firm Finder Business Quarterly is in the works but timing of the promotion had not been set pending clean-up and completion of technical fixes/enhancements to Firm Finder. ASLA believes that revenues will be lower than projected.
